Torghatten Nord won the tender for Kjerringøy

Recently, Nordland County Municipality announced that Torghatten Nord has won the tender for operating the ferry route between Festvåg and Misten. A new electric ferry is coming.

"It's very satisfying to win this tender and be back on Mistenfjorden from January next year," said Marius Hansen, CEO of Torghatten Nord. "What's particularly exciting is that from 2027, we will introduce a brand-new, fully electric ferry on the route."

"The residents of Kjerringøy have had older ferries for a long time, so we believe that the news of a brand-new ferry will be well received by travelers." The new ferry will have a capacity of 60 cars.

The tender starts on January 1, 2025, and the contract lasts for 10 years.
