As the first Danish company ever, Molslinjen was selected as a finalist for the prestigious Franz Edelman Award. And even though the final was filled with international companies far beyond Molslinjen's weight class, Molslinjen took home the prize, which was awarded in Orlando, Florida. 

"We were deeply honored just to be in the final - and to now stand here with the prize is, of course, absolutely fantastic," says Jesper Skovgaard, Molslinjen's Commercial Director, just after the thrilling final.

Molslinjen was in the final with the Danish AI company, Halfspace. The company's CEO, Claus Bek Nielsen, was likewise thrilled to be holding the trophy after some tough days in the USA, where he and Molslinjen presented their case leading up to the final.

"We are incredibly humble and proud to have received what is arguably the world's finest award when it comes to the work with AI and operations research. Through our work, Molslinjen has created value and set new standards for an entire industry that transports more than four billion people worldwide every year. I am very proud of that," says Claus Bek Nielsen.

Artificial intelligence helps Molslinjen optimize ferry loading and unloading and ensures precise forecasts and pricing for each departure - which has a significant impact on fuel consumption and thus climate impact.
